Hey Barons! “A Golden Night”, Prom 2018, is on May 19th at the Old Ranch Country Club. Tickets will be on sale next Tuesday through Thursday for $85 with Super Baron and $90 without. Purchase tickets and get more information about the dance from the financial office. Buy your tickets for a night full of Golden memories.
Attention juniors and seniors! The second round of Prom court voting begins today and lasts until Monday, May 14th, at 11:59 PM. You will have the opportunity to vote for the guy and girl you want on this year’s Prom Court. Voting will narrow down the top 25 guys and girls to the 5 guys and girls that will be on this year’s Prom court.
The last Saturday School before Prom is this Saturday, May 12th. Saturday School is in the cafeteria from 7:30 am until 11:45 am. Bring your ID and homework. Be on time. Late arrivals are not admitted.
Hey Barons! Do you love live music, theater, or art?! Come on down to the theater room, room 309, on Friday, May 11th at 7pm for a "Save the Arts" Showcase! We will be showing off the talent of our school from the various art departments! Tickets will be sold at the door: just $3 for students and $5 for general. There will also be food from Raising Cane's that you can buy with your admission for $10. Come support your fellow students with their amazing talents!
The 4th annual Voice of Fountain Valley will be taking the stage tonight! Make plans to join all the excitement!
Auditions for next year’s dance team are next week!! Auditions take place May 14-18 in the dance room after school. Details and the audition packet can be found at fvhsdanceteam.shutterfly.com
Packets can be printed from the website or you can get one from Mrs. Allen in room 210.
There will be an informational meeting in room 210 at lunch on Monday, May 14th if you have any questions about being a part of the team or the audition process.
The last tournament of the school year is upon us Barons! Dodge ball signups will be next Monday until Wednesday! Each player will be 5 dollars, with 5-7 players per team. Assemble your team and sign up in front of the Activities office during lunch!
Congratulations to the varsity baseball team for their 9-2 win over Marina yesterday. Nathan Wilson earned his 5th league win by pitching 4 scoreless innings. The offense was led by Sebastian Murillo, Cole Wentz, Noah Amenta and Jake Brooks who combined for 9 hits, 7 runs scored and 5 runs batted in. Congratulations to senior Jake Bitzer who hit his 1st varsity homerun. The Barons will begin CIF playoffs next week.
Homework N Help will not be offered for the next week due to AP Testing. We will be open again on May 21st to help you with your academic needs. If you need any assistance in math, Mrs. Marquez will offer math tutoring in her room, 231, after school next Monday, May 14th.
Attention Seniors -The "R-Pet" Scholarship information is now available at the College and Career Corner. The entries must be postmarked by May 13th. This scholarship is an opportunity to help you achieve your personal goal to better yourself and the community in which you reside.
Baron Academic Foundation would like to announce that the 2018 Meg Kelly Scholarship application is now available. Seniors can download the application at https://bit.ly/BAFatFVHS or pick up a copy at the College/Career Center. Applications are due May 14th.
Seniors: Are you involved with the Visual or Performing Arts? Earn $500-$1000 towards college! The Cecile Stephen's Scholarship Application is now open in the categories of Dance, Vocational & Technology, Orchestra, Band, and Vocal Music. Visit the College and Career Office for an application. The due date is May 16th!
Looking for a way to celebrate the end of AP testing? Come out to the gym next Friday, May 18th to watch some of your favorite teachers battle players our basketball teams in the 3rd annual Staff vs. Students Charity Basketball game sponsored by the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. Tickets are only $5 for students $10 for adults and can be purchased from Mrs. Springer in room 112, from a member of the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy or at the door. OR look for the Chick-fil-A cow next Thursday in the bowl! Doors open at 5 and game time is 5:30 pm. Make a half court shot and you could win FREE CHICK-FIL-A for a year! All proceeds from the game will go to the Orangewood Foundation to support underprivileged youth. Don’t miss out!!!

The Orange County District Attorney is hosting a 2018 Summer Youth Education Conference. It is an intensive week-long summer program which focuses on the criminal justice system. If you are interested in participating, please see Ms Sanders in the Student Services area to pick up and application. The deadline to submit applications is April 6th and there is a mandatory orientation workshop the evening of Thursday, May 24, 2018..
