There are many advantages to taking the CAASPP. Not only are the tests an indicator of progress toward career and college readiness, but the scores are also used to meet necessary components for certain student recognitions at graduation.

  • Your ELA SBAC score will be used to meet one of the necessary components of the State Seal of Biliteracy insignia on your diploma. You must score “standard met” or above to meet one of the State-established criteria to obtain the State Seal of Biliteracy.
  • Your ELA, math, and science SBAC scores may be used to meet one of the necessary components of the Golden State Seal insignia on your diploma.
  •  The ELA and math SBAC scores also support the California State University Early Assessment Program requirements.
  • English learners can use their overall ELA SBAC scores to meet one of the requirements to be reclassified as fluent English proficient.

MOST IMPORTANTLY... it's a great way to show your school pride and represent! You got this Barons! Make us proud!
