Professional Background
I've been teaching since September, 1985. Schools where I have taught include Bunche Junior High in Compton, Yorba Junior High and Portola Middle School in Orange, and Dexter Intermediate and Whittier High School in Whittier. I started teaching at Fountain Valley High School in September, 1996. In April 9th, 2013, the FVHS PTSA awarded me Fountain Valley Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013. This honor stands out as a highlight of my career! In June, 2010, I was chosen as one of 500+ teachers of AP Statistics nationwide to score the free response questions in Daytona Beach, Florida for the College Board. I worked alongside textbook authors and workshop presenters. It was a remarkable experience which taught me much and I am most proud for having been selected as one of this elite group. In June, 2012, 2015, and 2017, I was invited back to the College Board AP Statistics Reading, this time in Kansas City, MO, where I was able to meet up again with my dear friend and college roommate who works in Meteorology for the National Weather Service there. <3
Hobbies & Interests
My husband, Leo, and I were married in 1986. This past summer, we celebrated 31 years of marriage! We have two wonderful children; Ian is 24, a graduate of FVHS, an Eagle Scout, and a college student in Long Beach.  Fiona is 17 and is a senior here at FVHS. She is a Girl Scout Ambassador and has earned her Gold Award.  We live in Fountain Valley. I enjoy traveling with my family, leading my Girl Scout Troop, gardening, sewing, photography, reading, doing puzzles, decorating, architectural design, and teaching!  ;-)
