Interested in serving our country? Come learn about the congressional nomination process for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard Academy next week on Monday March 18th at 6:30pm. The Academy Information Session is open to all future candidates and parents, and will be held at the Learning Resource Center at Corona Del Mar High School. For students wishing to have a great career in accounting, tax, data analytics (from the financial perspective) and/or consulting, the GAP4+1 program is a GREAT solution. The partnership between IVC and CSUF allows students to earn both their bachelors and masters! To learn more about the program juniors, seniors and parents are invited to their info night on Thursday, March 14 at the CSUF Irvine Campus (3 Banting, Irvine, CA 92618) from 6pm-8pm.  
 
Irvine Valley College (IVC): Will host a High School Student & Parent Transfer Night (Tuesday, March 19 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm). The event will have a mini college fair, general and specific transfer information, a panel of transfer students, and a panel of admission officers from ASU, Chapman, CSUF, UCLA and UCI. Summer Opportunities

Trust me, I’m a doctor. Scholarship and standard applications for the Camp Cardiac and Camp Neuro 2019 have now opened! Run by medical students in over 30 cities nationwide, Camp Cardiac and Camp Neuro are 1 week summer day camps for high school students (age 15-18) interested in exploring careers in medicine. The dates for Los Angeles and Orange County camps are as followed: LA:Camp Cardiac (June 17-21); Camp Neuro (TBA);  Orange County: Camp Cardiac (July 29-August 2); Camp Neuro (July 22-26). The University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the upcoming Cornerstone Summer Institute. This week-long summer camp educates rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors about slavery and its legacies by exploring the University, Charlottesville, and area landmarks. Applications are due April 22 and some financial aid is available for students with demonstrated need. Summer camp at Gnomon is a hands-on camp that gives high school students an in-depth experience focusing on creative arts in the entertainment industry. Students are introduced to various forms of artistic expression in the fields of animation, visual effects, and games. Pace University’s 2019 Summer Scholars Institute for high school students will be held from July 14 - July 27 at the New York City Campus. The two week intensive program is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors. Five major academic tracks include: business, criminal justice, digital film production, psychology, and theater

 

The Samueli School of Engineering and the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences’ Office of Access and Inclusion at the University of California at Irvine is accepting applications for the 2019 ASPIRE Summer Program for high school students who will be sophomores, juniors and seniors in August 2019. ASPIRE (http://sites.uci.edu/aspire) is a 2-week program (with sessions in July and August) that provides high school students hands-on experience in engineering and computer science disciplines, including app development, robotics, and programming. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 15th.

 

Are you interested in the STEAM field? Juniors and Seniors are eligible to apply for admission to Stevens Institute of Technology’s Pre-College Program for Summer 2019. Priority Deadline is Feb 15th for student who want to secure their seat and/or be considered for Financial Aid. Take classes and live on campus at Washington University in St. Louis. Their High School Summer Scholars Program and High School Summer Institutes are accepting applications now. Students can select from a broad range of introductory course and well as pre-professional programs. The application deadline is April 1st. The Engineering Summer Academy at Penn (ESAP) welcomes highly motivated and talented students to explore Engineering at the college level.  The Academy’s intensive, three-week (July 7-27) programs combine sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting edge technologies. Work with leading faculty while earning college credit, live on Penn’s historic campus, and connect with new friends from around the world. Students who have completed their sophomore year in high school and are interested in pursuing a career in law should consider taking UCI’s High School Summer Institute in Law at UCI’s Law campus.
