With winter break just around the corner, its important to start thinking of relaxing in front of the telly and enjoying your favorite Christmas classics. What could be better than a cup of hot cocoa with mini-marshmallows and a Christmas Movie Marathon?

Luckily for you, several networks will be broadcasting beloved holiday classics. Watch these great movies to get into the holiday spirit because every mark of the calendar brings us closer to the 25th.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas: (starring Jim Carrey)

This recent remake of the titular, original children's book, tells of the heart-warming tale of a cold-hearted Grinchwho stole Christmas. The Grinch, who despises the Whos for their perpetual happiness, decides to ruin Christmas for them by snatching away their presents, trees, food, and else they cherish about the holiday. But the Grinch soon discovers the true meaning of Christmas, and his heart grows "two sizes larger."

Elf: (starring Will Ferrell)

This hilarious comedy follows the story of an “oversized” elf named Buddy, who, as a child, was raised by an elf at the North Pole, but soon discovers that he had a human father. After a long journey in search of his true identity, he discovers his father in New York City, struggles for acceptance, and eventually adapts to city-life. A woman eventually falls in love with this "freak of nature"

Home Alone: (starring McCaulay Culkin)

The Home Alone series begins about 17 years ago and is still considered a Christmas classic, along with its many sequels. Kevin (Culkin) is mistakenly left behind while his family flies to France for a Christmas vacation. Two burglars infamously known as the “Wet Bandits” find the house to be an easy target ___ since the family had left. Little do they know that the loveable Kevin was still inside, lavishing in the freedom. As they try to rob the house, Kevin mans the fort and sets a series of booby traps to defend himself from the intruders. The hilarious and witty traps may as well be one of the best parts of the movie. If you can’t get enough, there are 3 sequels to this amazing Christmas film.

Love Actually:

This holiday romantic comedy has been deemed a favorite and is quite popular with women. This story takes place five weeks before Christmas and describes the drama, as well as the comedy, of relationships. It contains several subplots that that eventually overlap and linking the characters in the process. The movie is similar to Crash, but has a quirky and fun-loving feel that will be perfect for Christmas couples. However, I advise you to proceed with caution; the movie is rated R for sexuality, nudity and language.
