Impossibly Good

The second sequel to the original Mission Impossible left audiences wide-eyed and glued to their seat movies with nonstop action from Tom Cruise. Surpassing Poseidon and shooting up to first in box office hits, Mission will have you hooked from beginning to end. Make your guesses early in the movie, but you'll probably end up jaw-dropped and surprised.

The story begins with Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) retirement from the IMF to train recruits. Unfortunately, on his trainee's first real mission, she is kidnapped by villain Owen Davian (Phillip Seymour Hoffman). As Hunt goes back on the field to rescue his protégé, he is sucked into a baffling game of chess. Follow throughout the story because the movie takes you on twists and turns that could lead you to dead ends.

After all the criticism that Cruise received prior to the film, he no doubt deserves acclaim for his performance in Mission Impossible. From the heart-pumping action scenes to the poignant moments in the movie, Cruise does it all and all with impossible greatness.

There isn't much you could ask for more from the movie. Although the movie was cost a pricey $150 million, it contains all the necessary eye-candy from realistic graphics to beautiful, scenic shots in China and Italy .

Unfortunately, Mission does have its cheesy lines and jokes, but the nonstop action and imaginative operations compensate for the flaws. Scenes worth mentioning are the helicopter maneuvers through the windmill field and the bridge scene in which Cruise is pitted against a squad of soldiers and a swooping airplane.

Overall: 9/10
