Last Friday, October 19, I went to Knott’s Scary Farm, a big event that happens every year in October. All my friends start talking about it. Everyone gets excited, and the tickets get sold out. The guys start picking the girls that they want to take, because the event is supposed to be “scary.” But to me, all this hype is just a big waste of money.
Every year, Knott’s Scary Farm just turns out to be a dull night full of regrets. Many of the people who went ended up regretting their decision to spend $40-$60 on a boring evening. I asked one random person who went and what he thought of the occasion.
He said, “I just went because everyone else was going.“ I just sat back and laughed.
Don’t fret if you don’t buy your tickets beforehand. There are scalpers on every corner trying to sell tickets for $60-$80 apiece.
Traffic is insane. You might as well leave two hours early just to get a parking space and beat the rush of people trying to get into the park. There are more people attending than there are parking spaces. You definitely need to plan before attending this event.
Every year I go it’s the same old same. Spending all night waiting in line to get through an overcrowded maze full of monsters really gets tiring. After each maze, groups of people sit down and try to catch their breath and wonder, “What are we going to do now?”
The only way you will come out of this event with a smile is if you make the best out of this event. It’ll be fun as long as you make it fun. My advice is to go with people that won’t get on your nerves, plan thoroughly, have a lot of money, and make it a fun experience by making it fun yourselves.
